Everything is ready for the new edition of the Burgos Consumer Vouchers 2025 , an initiative of the Burgos City Council that aims to boost local businesses and the hospitality sector in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The campaign will run from November 12 to December 10 and includes significant changes compared to previous years.

- Start: Tuesday, November 12, 2025.
- End of the first phase: Tuesday, December 10, 2025.
- Second phase of bond redemption: from December 11 to 17, 2025 (for unused bonds).
The program has a total investment of €1.4 million : €1,260,000 allocated to retail and €140,000 to the hospitality sector. A total of 252,000 retail vouchers and 28,000 hospitality vouchers will be issued, all with a value of €5 .
💳 Important new feature: payment is made at the store
This year the system is changing significantly. Users will need to register on the website bonosburgos.es to reserve their vouchers . Once registration is complete, the vouchers will be sent by email, but payment will be made directly at the store where the purchase is made.
As explained by the Councillor for Commerce, César Barriada , "payment will not be made online, but in person, to encourage in-store shopping and discourage online sales." In this new edition, the shopper will pay the total amount at the establishment , and the City Council will subsidize €5 for every €15 spent . In other words, for every €15 spent, the customer pays €10 and the City Council contributes the remaining €5.
The aim of this new system is to guarantee effective payment in commerce , so that the business receives the amount paid by the customer immediately, while the City Council assumes the subsidized part.

The Burgos Consumer Vouchers program aims to boost the local economy , particularly supporting local businesses and the city's hospitality sector. The program seeks to offer a mutual benefit: direct savings for residents and increased activity and liquidity for businesses .
As Barriada pointed out, this edition "aims to provide maximum diversity and facilitate participation for both businesses and citizens."
🏪 Joining businesses and the hospitality sector
From November 7th, interested businesses can join the campaign through the platform available at bonosburgos.es . Participation is open to shops, bars, restaurants, and other local businesses that meet the established requirements.
Furthermore, this year the campaign expands its scope and includes new sectors, such as sports facilities, gyms, photographic services, vending machines or cleaning services , among others.
📋 How the system works step by step
- Register at bonosburgos.es and book your vouchers (for free).
- You will receive your vouchers by email.
- Go to the participating store and make your purchase in person.
- Pay the full amount at the establishment.
- The City Council subsidizes €5 for every €15 spent, applying the discount instantly.
Unused vouchers before December 10 will automatically expire, but will be reactivated between December 11 and 17 so that they can be used by other users.

- Payment is no longer made online, but directly at the store.
- A bank guarantee of €900,000 is required from the winning company to reinforce the financial security of the program.
- The participating sectors are being expanded.

📣 Industry Opinion
From the retail sector, Patricia Gil , president of the Burgos City Center Association, expressed concern about the lack of information regarding the new system. Even so, she emphasized that "the vouchers work and are very necessary in this time of crisis," and requested that the campaigns be scheduled at more strategic times for businesses, such as late September or October , or even in two phases per year, to bolster sales during slower periods.
